The Dance Club Launch

A big heartfelt thank you to everyone for their kind words and encouragement since the launch of The Dance Club. As some of you know, I am from Aberystwyth and moved to London to study and work as a dancer. Having had a 20 year dance career, I moved back to Aber with my family - what better place to bring up a family?

Once I had moved back I started to feel really keen to pass on my knowledge and experiences of the commercial dance world, and to also put my ISTD Modern and Tap teaching qualifications to good use, an important foundation for a dancer. After a while and a lot of encouragement from family and friends, I decided to embark on my own journey and set up The Dance Club, and I am so humbled and excited at the response I have had.

Using studio space at the Aberystwyth Arts Centre, a place we are very lucky to have here in Aberystwyth, and somewhere I considered my second home growing up, doing many shows and dance classes with the Aberystwyth Arts Centre Dance School, The Wardens, and the professional summer seasons, it feels like I have come full circle.

I’m now getting everything together to deliver the dancers a fun and inspiring workshop in August. Whether it’s something you are doing for fun, or something you are starting to see yourself doing in the future, I am always there to offer help, guidance and invaluable insight into todays dance industry. I will also be releasing more classes for September in the coming weeks.

Lastly, I want to dedicate the launch of The Dance Club to my Mum, Christine Michael, who many of you knew from the Arts Centre. I feel her encouragement every single day x
